DEARBORN, Mich. – In a classic trap game before the showdown with No. 5 Davenport on Saturday, the men's basketball team showed no signs of looking ahead as they posted an impressive 87-55 win at UM-Dearborn on Wednesday night. The victory lifts the No. 7 ranked Golden Eagles to 17-4 on the year and 11-2 in league action. Cornerstone faces rival Davenport on the road on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Game Flow
The first 15 minutes of the game were back and forth with each team holding slim leads but after CU scored six straight by Ben Lanning (JR/Grandville, Mich.) and Kyle Steigenga (FR/Holland, Mich.), the lead would never go back to the home Wolverines. Cornerstone closed the first half on a 16-8 run to lead 41-35 at the break.

Cornerstone then caught fire early in the second half and quickly turned the game into a blowout as they upped the lead to 20 in the first 8:36 with the run finished off by four straight points from Kyle Steigenga. Every player in uniform was able to get into action with all but two players scoring on the night.

Say What?
"After pulling out a close win over UM-Dearborn back at home in December, I was proud of the way the guys handled themselves without looking ahead to Saturday. It was a solid team effort all the way around." Head coach Kim Elders
