FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Playing another tough Crossroads League foe on short rest seemed to get to the No. 1 ranked Golden Eagles in the opening half but a strong second vaulted them to the 93-72 win over Huntington. The win, coming on a neutral floor at Saint Francis (Ind.), sends the Golden Eagles back home with a 3-1 record as they will gear up for WHAC play that starts next Saturday at Lourdes.

Game Flow
The Foresters, having not played the night before like the Golden Eagles, came out blazing in the opening part of the game and had Cornerstone down by double-figures. Head coach Kim Elders and his team stayed patient and cut the lead down to just three (43-40) at the break.
After making some defensive adjustments at halftime, Cornerstone came out clicking on both ends of the court as they outscored HU 53-29 to take home the 21-point win.

Say What?
"We came out a little slow today but I am proud of the way we responded. Leaving Fort Wayne with a couple of wins is what we expected to do but nonetheless is big for us moving forward." – Senior Travis Wells (SR/Eaton Rapids, Mich.)

By the Numbers
5 – All five Cornerstone starters reached double-figures led by Ben Lanning (SR/Grandville, Mich.) with 20
6 – Travis Wells and Michael McLaughlin (JR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) each had six helpers in the contest
4 – Steals by Michael McLaughlin
39-29 – Cornerstone out-rebounded the Foresters 39-29
