Aquinas closes men’s soccer season in WHAC Quarterfinal

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Aquinas scored one first half goal and poured in three more in the second to bring a close to the Cornerstone men's soccer season. The 4-0 loss to the Saints closes the Golden Eagles' season with a 8-10-1 overall record.

Game Flow…
Cornerstone handed Aquinas a 2-0 setback in the regular season but the tides were swayed today as the host Saints posted a 4-0 win to advance to the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Saints struck first in the 17' minutes when they scored on a long shot from about 35 yards out.

Taking the 1-0 lead into the second half, Aquinas saw Cornerstone come back with more pressure but the Golden Eagles were not able to get anything early in the closing 45. Aquinas then got the insurance goal in the 62' off a corner kick and used two more tallies to bring the final score to 4-0.
