AVE MARIA, Fla. – The women's tennis team will play one more match before returning from Florida and they will do it with a winning streak on the line. CU picked up their first win of the 2014-15 season on Wednesday as they defeated host Ave Maria 4-3. The Golden Eagles conclude their spring break trip against Webber International at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Doubles Highlights: With only two matches played in the doubles session, CU tied the score at 1-1 thanks to an 8-2 win at No. 2 by Heidi Boesl (JR/Coos Bay, Ore.) and Ashley Greene (JR/Rockford, Mich.).
Singles Highlights: Needing only three out of the five singles matches to fall their way for the victory, Cornerstone did just that by winning at No. 3, 4 and 5. Allison Rusticus (SR/Byron Center, Mich.) won at No. 3 – 6-1, 7-5, Ashley Greene at No. 4 – 6-2, 6-4 and Nicole Huizenga (FR/St. John, IN) at No. 5 – 6-2, 6-0.
What's Next? The Golden Eagles will conclude their spring break trip on Thursday in a dual match against Webber International.
