GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In their second match in as many days, the Cornerstone women's tennis team was sent to a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Aquinas College. Cornerstone falls to 5-12 overall and 3-2 in league play as they will resume action on Friday in a non-conference tilt at Grace College (Ind.). CU will also play at Northwestern Ohio over the weekend.
Doubles Highlights: Cornerstone was only able to win five total games in the three matches as the Aquinas Saints took a 3-0 lead after doubles play. CU dropped a 8-0 decision at the top court followed by 8-3 and 8-2 losses in the other two.
Singles Highlights: Allison Rusticus (SR/Byron Center, Mich.) put up the closest fight for the Golden Eagles at No. 3 singles as the senior fell 6-1, 7-5 but it was one of six straight set losses for Cornerstone to fall to Aquinas 9-0.
What's Next? The Golden Eagles will travel to Indiana and Ohio on the weekend to face Grace College on Friday and UNOH on Saturday.
