Men’s Tennis defeats Grace; Falls to No. 7 UNOH

LIMA, Ohio. – Cornerstone traveled to Indiana and Ohio for their final regular season road trip and came away with a 1-1 record against Grace College (Ind.) and No. 7 UNOH. The Golden Eagles defeated the Lancers 8-1 on Friday night before falling to the Racers 7-2 on Saturday. CU will host Spring Arbor on Tuesday in their regular season finale.



Cornerstone posted an impressive 8-1 win on Friday night over Grace College of the Crossroads League but ended the weekend with a tough setback to Northwestern Ohio on Saturday. UNOH came into the match ranked No. 7 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll.

CU got a big win at No. 1 doubles against UNOH as the tandem of Elijah Yi (JR/Dallas, Texas) and Austin Hunt (JR/Odessa, Texas.) defeated Thommy Johansson and Rik van Gerwin 8-4. CU's only other point came at No. 5 singles behind the 6-4, 3-6, 11-9 victory for Austin Hendrick (FR/Grand Rapids, Mich.).

The match against UNOH was the WHAC finale for Cornerstone as they finish the season at 1-4 and in fifth place in the standings. CU will meet either Indiana Tech or Davenport in the first round of the conference tournament next weekend. Details will follow when the official bracket is released.
