MISHSWAKA, Ind. - After seeing their morning match with Goshen rained out the women's tennis team did get the second match in as they fell to the Bethel College Pilots in their season opener. Head coach Dan Erickson and his team fell by the score of 9-0 as they will host both Huntington University and Olivet Nazarene this weekend.
Doubles Highlights - In the first countable match of the season, CU put up a strong fight at No. 1 doubles behind the duo of Heidi Boesl (SR/Coos Bay, Ore.) and Ashley Greene (SR/Rockford, Mich.) but they ultimately fell 8-5. CU's second court of Nicole Huizenga (SO/St. John, Ind.) and Rachel Kono (SO/Parma, Mich.) fell 8-0
Singles Highlights - Moving to singles play, Greene again played a strong match as she fell 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Making her first appearance in a Cornerstone uniform was Tori Young (FR/Davidson, Mich.) who fell at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-1
What's Next? Cornerstone will play a pair of home matches this weekend when they welcome Huntington University on Friday and Olivet Nazarene on Saturday. Both matches will be played at NorthPointe Christian High School.
