SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The offense was held quiet once again as the Cornerstone men's soccer team fell 1-0 on the road at Spring Arbor on Saturday night. The Cougars scored the lone goal of the match midway through the second half as the Golden Eagles fall to 2-4-0 on the season. CU will return to action next Saturday at Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Game Flow
Cornerstone, for the second straight night, held the advantage in shots in the opening half as they put up nine compared to just five for the Cougars but they were held scoreless. Nick Hopkins (JR/Ada, Mich.) and the defense in front of him made some plays to keep SAU off the board as well in the first 45.
Midway through the second however, Spring Arbor scored what would turn out to be the game winner as the Cornerstone offense continued to be held in check.
The lone shot on goal for the night by SAU was the difference.
