Non-conference slate concludes with 1-0 setback

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Cornerstone men's soccer team brought a close to their non-conference slate today as they fell 1-0 to Mount Vernon Nazarene. The 1-goal setback is the fifth of its kind for the Golden Eagles as they fall to 2-5-0 on the year. CU will return home for the first time since August 22 when they host Aquinas College on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m.



Game Flow
For the fifth time this year, Cornerstone fell by the slimmest of margins as the host Cougars got the lone goal of the match in the 25'. It was one of only five shots in total for the home team compared to just six from the Golden Eagles in a very defensive-played match.
The Golden Eagles finished with just one save in net while MVNU had three.

What's on Tap?
Cornerstone will play their first home match in over a month next Friday when they open WHAC play against cross-town rival Aquinas at 7 p.m. The match will also be the annual Night of Nets fundraiser
