FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In their first five-set match of the season, the CU volleyball team was unable to overcome a slow start as they fell to the host Warriors of Indiana Tech. The Golden Eagles fell 25-22, 21-25, 10-25, 25-23, 15-12 to fall to 11-5 on the year and 5-2 in league play. CU will look to rebound against undefeated Lourdes on Saturday.

How it Happened…
The host Warriors took the momentum from a home-court advantage in the first set and held off a late Cornerstone comeback to post the 25-22 win but then saw CU dominate the next two including a 25-10 win in the third to go up 2-1.

When it looked as if CU would walk away with a 3-1 win, Indiana Tech forced a fifth with a 2-point win in the fourth and then raced out to an 8-3 lead in the fifth. After a timeout and side change, Cornerstone rattled off seven of the next eight points to lead 10-9 but the Warriors had the last rally, scoring six of the final eight points for the 15-12 win.

Looking at Stats…
-    Cornerstone had three players in double-figure kills – Johanna Egerer (SR/Plymouth, Wisc.) (13), Megan Newhouse (SR/Grand Haven, Mich.) (11) and Chelsea Lake (SR/Lake Odessa, Mich.) (13)
