Undefeated Lourdes too much for Volleyball

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – Playing their third straight match on the road for the week, the Cornerstone volleyball team was unable to hand Lourdes University their first loss as they were defeated 25-20, 26-24, 25-22. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 11-6 on the year and 5-3 in league play. CU plays at Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday.

How it Happened…
Looking to give the host Gray Wolves their first loss of the season, the Golden Eagles played toe-to-toe with the home team but were unable to come away with a victory as LU won by small margins in each of the three sets.

The offense for the Gray Wolves was the story as the trio of Molly Shonk, Stephanie Richards and Stephanie Ruffing combined for 42 kills which was 14 more than the entire CU team.

Looking at Stats…
- CU hit just .137 for the match as nobody finished with double-figure kills
- The Golden Eagle defense had 52 digs in three sets led by 12 from a trio of players

Cornerstone continues their road stretch next week when they travel back to Ohio to face Northwestern Ohio at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
