ONU too much for women’s tennis in home loss

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A strong Olivet Nazarene team caused problems for Cornerstone's Women's Tennis as they took a 9-0 loss Saturday afternoon. ONU started the afternoon by sweeping the singles matches and then stayed hot as they again swept in doubles. The Golden Eagles will regroup, as their next match is not until the ITA Regionals on September 17.



 

Doubles Highlights: The afternoon began with singles as Olivet quickly took six points from the Golden eagles. Nicole Huizenga (SO/St. John, Ind.) (6-1, 6-0) posted the only game win at No. 3 singles.


Singles Highlights: The Tigers stayed in command in a pair of doubles victories. The duo of Boesl and Greene managed to pull out a game victory for the Golden Eagles as they fell 8-1, while Huizenga and Kono took the 8-0 loss. The third doubles match went to the Tigers on a forfeit.


What's Next? Cornerstone will rest as they will not have another match until the ITA Regionals that begin on September 17 at Davenport University.
