GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the second straight match, sophomore Ellie Van Laar (SO/Hudsonville, Mich.) reached double-figure kills and today she led Cornerstone with 14 to help the Golden Eagles post a 3-1 win over Indiana University South Bend. The win is the second straight for CU as they now prepare to face No. 15 Madonna on Wednesday inside Mol Arena. Match time is set for 7 p.m. and will also be a Night of Nets fundraiser.
How it Happened…
After picking up a win in their conference opener on Friday night, Cornerstone returned to Aquinas' Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center to post a 4-set win over non-conference foe IU-South Bend. Cornerstone again went four sets for the fourth time this season but was able to defeat the Titans 25-19, 26-28, 25-14, 25-22.
The offense posted a .187 hitting percentage while holding the Titans to the same exact number. Defensively, the block was strong again as Cornerstone posted 9.0 team blocks.

- Ellie Van Laar led Cornerstone with a career high 14 kills
- Chelsea Lake (SR/Lake Odessa, Mich.) and Megan Newhouse (SR/Grand Haven, Mich.) each finished with double-doubles in kills and digs
- Hope Leppink (SO/Holland, Mich.) led the team with 46 assists
