GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone men's basketball team found their shooting touch early and often on Wednesday night as they raced out to a 41-point halftime lead in route to a 105-58 victory over Concordia. The Golden Eagles connected on a season high 15 three-pointers to improve to 14-4 on the season and 9-2 in the WHAC. CU travels to Madonna Saturday to open the second half of league play against the Crusaders.
Game Flow
From the opening tip to the closing buzzer it was all Cornerstone and it came on both ends of the floor as the Golden Eagles went over the century mark for the third time this season and the second time in their last four games. Cory Cox (JR/Flushing, Mich.) had the hot hand early as the junior connected on five triples in the first half in route to his game high 19 points. CU would connect on 11 shots from behind the arc in the opening 20 minutes while taking a 63-22 lead into the break.
That lead was held around the 40 point mark for most of the second half as Cornerstone's bench was cleared midway and almost every player on the roster saw at least 10 minutes of action. Eric Readman (JR/Fenton, Mich.) came off the bench to post 13 points and seven rebounds while every player scored at least one point in the 47-point win.
