GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 13 ranked Golden Eagles started the game with a 17-5 run, led by 17 at halftime and did not allow the Blue Devils to score for almost seven minutes to start the second half as they cruised to an 89-42 win on Wednesday night. CU is now 17-5 overall and 12-3 in the WHAC. Cornerstone will host UM-Dearborn on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Game Flow
Cornerstone dominated from the opening tip behind the double-double of Kyle Steigenga (SO/Holland, Mich.) and the strong play of its bench as they cruised to a 47-point win on Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles raced out to a 17-5 lead and extended it to 17 at the break when Lance Martin (SO/Kingman, Ariz.) hit a three just before the buzzer.

Then the defense turned in a solid performance for the first seven minutes of the second half as they did not allow LTU to score until 13:18 showed on the clock with the lead then at 56-25. The margin only grew as CU cleared its bench as the Golden Eagles got 39 points from its reserves including 10 from Eric Readman (JR/Fenton, Mich.) and nine from Tyler Smith (JR/Zeeland, Mich.).

"It was great to get everyone involved from the middle of the first half and to see our guys so excited for each other throughout the win." Head coach Kim Elders
