No. 7 Men’s Hoops defeats No. 20 Indiana Tech 76-68

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Cornerstone picked up a solid road win on Wednesday night as they defeated No. 20 Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne 76-68. The Golden Eagles now sit atop the WHAC at 8-1 in league play while they are 13-3 overall. Cornerstone will host No. 5 Davenport on Saturday inside Mol Arena at 3 p.m.

Game Flow
Neither team had much trouble scoring points in the opening half as Cornerstone connected on 48.3% of their shots and Indiana Tech 45.2% but it was the three-point shot that kept the Warriors alive. After CU scored the opening bucket of the game, they would increase it to as many as eight on two different occasions but a 75-foot shot at the buzzer brought the Warriors to within two (36-34) after 20 minutes.

5:38 into the second half, Indiana Tech took their first and only lead of the game as Cornerstone countered with a 15-3 run finished off by a Michael McLaughlin (JR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) triple to give CU a 59-49 lead. The margin stayed between 5-10 points the remainder of the game as Travis Wells (SR/Eaton Rapids, Mich.) scored six points down the stretch and CU hit four of their five foul shots in the final 42 seconds.
