Volleyball hosts Davenport and ACC in 5-match week

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles host five matches this week starting with rival Davenport on Wednesday night inside Mol Arena. The Golden Eagles have won three out of the last four meetings with the Panthers as they look to keep pace in the WHAC regular season race.

SCOUTING DAVENPORT
Head coach Megan Lenhart is in her seventh season at the helm of the Panthers' program and they enter the week with an 11-11 overall record as they will face Cornerstone on Wednesday night. Krissy Dill has led the way on offense and defense for the Panthers as she leads DU in kills while she is second in digs. She recently surpassed 1,000 career kills and digs.


Scouting Governors State
The newly formed program is a member of the CCAC and is under the direction of first-year head coach Pedro Gonzalez. The Jauguars are just 7-11 on the year and are ony 1-9 in conference play. GSU went 2-23 last season in their inaugural year as they have been led on offense by Ashley Pickert who is averaging 3.17 kills per set.
 
Scouting IU-South Bend
6th year head coach Jamie Ashmore and her Titans enter the week with an overall record of 11-13 while they are 5-6 in league action. The Titans, who play Olivet Nazarene and Governors State this week before heading to Grand Rapids, are led by the duo of Sierra Conklin and Ashley McClintock who have a combined 533 kills.
 
Scouting Saint Francis (Ind.)
First year Scott Haddix and the Cougars have struggled in 2016 as they enter the week with a 3-20 overall record while they are just 2-9 in league action. USF has lost its last six matches with their last winning coming on September 24. The Cougars are led on offense by Carrie Clark and Sierra Clark who put up a combined six kills per set.
 
Scouting Saint Xavier (Ill.)
The Cougars, who Cornerstone has seen once already this season at Madonna, are under the guidance of veteran head coach Bob Heersema. SXU has an overall record of 15-12 while they lead their division in the CCAC at 7-3 overall. The Cougars have been led on offense by Rory Manion who has 321 kills on the year, which is more than 100 more than the next highest on the team.
