GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone found the net six times in just 69' of play this evening for a 6-0 victory, as the match was shortened due to Marygrove injuries that prevented the Mustangs from having a full squad to continue for the final 21' of game action. With the win, CU has now won two straight to improve to 7-5-1, 2-4-0 on the season with their next match coming on Saturday, when CU hosts Siena Heights.
Game Flow…
It did not take long for the Golden Eagles to get on the scoreboard as
Alexys Riksen found the net in the 8' for her first goal of the season giving CU a 1-0 lead. Despite 19 first half shots, that was the only goal Cornerstone found in the period leading to a 1-0 halftime score.
The CU offense then erupted in the second half with five goals before the game was called in the 69' minute. Riksen started the second half scoring with her second goal of the day in the 47" and was followed by goals by
Lexanna Siemasz,
Bria West,
Kelsey Gensler, and
Maddie Tassoni resulting in a 6-0 final.

- CU did not give up a shot for the first time since 2014 when Cornerstone beat Grace Bible College 7-0.
