Men’s Soccer to make two trips to the Buckeye state

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The men's soccer team heads to Ohio for a pair of key league contests this week as they take on Lourdes in Sylvania on Wednesday and No. 6 Northwestern Ohio in Lima on Saturday. CU, 8-4-2 overall and 4-1-2 in the WHAC, has just two weeks remaining in the regular season.

Scouting Lourdes – Head coach Barry Spitzer (2nd season)
The Gray Wolves are wrapping up a 4-game home stretch that has seen them post a 1-2 record vs. Siena Heights, UNOH and Marygrove. Head coach Barry Spitzer and the second-year program got off to a hot start as they won their first five contests by a combined 51-4 but has since gone just 1-4-1 in league play. Jake Kirchoff-Sleet leads the team with 13 goals and six assists with nine of those goals coming in the first five games.
 
History vs. the Gray Wolves
Lourdes is 1-0 all-time against Cornerstone, having defeated the Golden Eagles 2-0 on Oct. 28, 2015 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Carlos Viganoni scored in the 13th minute and Jake Kirchoff-Sleet added an insurance goal with less than 10 minutes to play in the win.

Scouting UNOH – Head coach Gavin Oldham (6th season)
The Racers currently lead the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Confernece regular season race as they enter the week 10-1-3 overall and 6-0-1 in WHAC play. Head coach Gavin Oldham is in his sixth season at the helm and has seen his team outscore its opponents by a margin of 34-6. Leading the way for UNOH is Sean Latimer with seven goals while three others have five goals each.
 
History vs. the Racers
Cornerstone has struggled against the Racers since they started their program in 2010 as they are just 1-4 against them and they have lost the last four meetings. Last season, UNOH won 4-0 here in Grand Rapids.
