No. 8 Men’s Hoops to take on College of Ozarks in Huntington Tourney

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 8 ranked Men's Basketball team will step away from Mol Arena for the first time this season when they take on the Cillege of the Ozarks (Mo.) in the opening game of the Ness Bros. Hall of Fame Tourney at Huntington University (Ind.). The Golden Eagles and Bobcats will tip off at 6 p.m. EST and the other half of the tourney features the host Foresters vs. Great Lakes Christian (Mich.).

Scouting College of the Ozarks (Mo.) – Head coach Steve Shepherd
The Bobcats, under veteran head coach Steve Shepherd, are off to a 4-1 with their only setback to Southwestern Assemblies of God in the season opener. They have since won four straight games which includes a 95-83 win over No. 10 Tabor College. Cameron Paschke leads the team averaging 24.0 points per game as the senior has scored at least 22 points in his last four outings including 36 in the win over Tabor. As a team, CofO is averaging 78.0 points while allowing 67.6.
 
Scouting Huntington (Ind.)
The Foresters enter the weekend with a 3-0 record after defeating No. 22 Saint Xavier on Tuesday. Huntington, under ninth year head coach Ty Platt, is led on offense by Ty Arens who is averaging 18.0 points per game whle Dan Woll, Mike Bush and Konner Platt all average in double-figures. The Foresters are putting up 83.7 points per game while allowing 71.0. They rank No. 2 in the NAIA in Assist/Turnover Ratio (1.875) and in FT% (.831).
 
Scouting Great Lakes Christian (Mich.)
The fourth team in the Ness Bros. Hall of Fame Tournament is the second team from Michigan as head coach Mark Mellor is in his first season on the sideline. Mellow and the Lakes have started the year 0-6 after their last loss to Andrews University 89-84 on Wednesday night. GLC has players that hail from four different states including California, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Cornerstone ranks No. 1 in the country in Blocks per Game (7.3) and No. 18 in FT% (.766). Other top 40 rankings include Rebound Margin (6.3) and Rebounds per Game (41.6). Individually, Sam Vander Sluis is tops in the nation in Blocks per Game (3.6) and FT% (1.000).
