GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Senior forward Alyssa Van Ham recorded her first career double-double tonight with 10 points and 12 rebounds to help Cornerstone earn an 87-52 victory over Marygrove College.  CU is now 2-0 in conference play and 4-2 on the year, as they will travel to Concordia University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match before getting a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Game Flow
CU poured it on from the start recording the first twelve points of the game helped by two early threes, one by Samantha Kolenda and the other by Jesse Sheridan. Marygrove then worked there way back into the game cutting the lead to 16-13 before CU ended the first quarter on a 9-1 run to make the score 25-14 going into the second quarter. Jesse Sheridan had 13 points in the first half and Taryn Sack had 10 to give CU a 21-point half time lead.

The second half was much of the same for the Golden Eagles as the bench continued to produce with Taylor Richards recording eight second half points on her way to 15 for the game, and Alyssa Van Ham recording four points and seven rebounds helping CU secure a season high 35 point victory 87-52.

By the Numbers
52.1 – The Golden Eagles shot a season high 52.1% from the field going 37-71 in the win.  
17 – Jesse Sheridan led the team with 17 points going 7-11 from the field.
4 – Four CU players had double-digit points three of those players coming off the bench.
9 – Emma Lockhart tied a career high nine assists to go along with her four points.
11-6 – Cornerstone recorded 11 steals in the game while Marygrove had just six.

Cornerstone will travel to Ann Arbor for a matchup with the Concordia Cardinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. before getting the week off for Thanksgiving.
