ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Cornerstone fell behind by 15 at the end of the first quarter and then by 24 at halftime as they fell 86-56 at Concordia on Saturday afternoon. The setback drops the Golden Eagles to 4-3 on the year and 2-1 in WHAC play. CU will have a week off before resuming play at home against Hope College next Saturday at 1 p.m.
Game Flow
Concordia kept their perfect record in tact as they raced out to a 28-13 at the end of the first quarter thanks to a trio of triples and some strong defense that limited the Golden Eagles to just 28.5% shooting over the first 10 minutes. That lead continued to grow into the second as CUAA extended it to 24 at the break.
Cornerstone played evenly with the Cardinals in the third as each team scored 20 points but the margin after the first half was too much to overcome as CU fell 85-56.
