Scouting Calvin College – Head coach Kevin VandeStreek
The Knights, under 21st year head coach Kevin VandeStreek, are 1-1 so far on the 2016-17 season with a win over Finlandia and a loss to Augustana at their home tourney. Calvin has been led on offense by Austin Bykerk who is averaging 10.5 points per game while five others are putting up at least 6.5 points through their first two games. The Knights are averaging 75.0 points as a team while allowing 64.0 and they are shooting .479 from the field. After the weekend at the Hall of Fame Classic, Calvin will travel to Carthage and Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Scouting Hope College – Head coach Greg Mitchell
Third-year head coach Greg Mitchell and the Flying Dutchmen are off to a 2-0 start with a pair of wins at the Wisconsin-Stout Tip-off Tournament. During those two wins, senior Harrison Blackledge, who was named the MIAA Player of the Week, posted averages of 27.5 points and 7.0 rebounds. Hope has seven players averaging at least 5.0 points but none in double-figures other than Blackledge.
GR Sports Hall of Fame History
Cornerstone will participate in the 21st annual Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic this weekend. The tourney started in 1996 and has featured NCAA DII Grand Valley State, NAIA programs Cornerstone and Aquinas and NCAA DIII powers Hope and Calvin College.
History in the Hall of Fame Classic
Cornerstone owns five championships in their 19 years participating in the tourney as they took home the titles in 2001, 2004, 2009, 2013 and 2015. The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 20-18 and they have won 10 of their last 13 including three perfect years in 2009, 2013 and 2015.
