GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The men's soccer team opens postseason play on Saturday when they welcome in Marygrove College for an 8 p.m. kickoff. The Golden Eagles are the No. 3 seed in the WHAC Tournament while the Mustangs are the No. 6 seed. The winner will advance to Wednesday's semifinals to face either No. 2 Davenport or No. 7 Lawrence Tech.

Scouting Marygrove– Head coach Matt Johnson (8th season)
The Mustangs, under the direction of 8th year head coach Matt Johnson, enter the WHAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed after tying Lawrence Tech and earning the tie-breaker. The Mustangs (8-7-3 overall) have won three straight matches entering the postseason as they downed #25 Madonna on Saturday 3-2. MC is led on offense by Gbenga Ayanwale (9 goals) and Mario Morana (8 goals).
History vs. the Mustangs
Cornerstone has an overall record of 4-4-1 against Marygrove but the Mustangs have won the three of the last four meetings including a 2-0 win last season in Detroit. The last win for CU came in 2012 during the WHAC Tournament in which they won 4-0.
Regular Season Matchup
Cornerstone and Marygrove posted a 1-1 draw back on October 12 in Detroit. The Mustangs struck first on a PK but CU got the game-tying goal from junior
Caleb Colp.
Dary DeWalt posted nine saves in goal for CU.
WHAC Tournament
Cornerstone is one of eight teams that will continue play in the postseason as the Golden Eagles are the No. 3 seed in the WHAC Tournament. UNOH took the regular season title by going undefeated and they are followed in seeding by No. 2 Davenport, Cornerstone, No. 4 Indiana Tech, No. 5 Madonna, No. 6 Marygrove, No. 7 Lawrence Tech and No. 8 Aquinas.
