Sam Vander Sluis finished with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds as the No. 1 ranked Golden Eagles finished their non-conference slate with an 84-62 victory over Goshen College. Game Flow...
Cornerstone got off to a fast start and led 8-2 and had the lead up into double-digits in the first half but the host Maple Leafs refused to let the lead get too large and had it down to just a bucket with under two minutes to play. CU took a 5-point lead into the locker room at 41-36.
The Golden Eagles then opened the second half on a 10-2 run to open a 13 point lead and behind the inside presence of Steigenga and Vander Sluis, were able to maintain a solid cushion throughout, leading by over 20 midway through the half.
