Game Flow
Early on, the Mustangs traded buckets with the Golden Eagles but midway through the opening half, CU got hot from distance behind Ben Lanning (SR/Grandville, Mich.) and Cory Cox (JR/Flushing, Mich.) as they pulled away for a 16-point halftime lead of 51-35. Marygrove stayed close with six made three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.
The second half saw CU start with back to back buckets from Lanning and Kyle Steigenga (SO/Holland, Mich.) forcing Marygrove into a timeout and those plays were part of a 35-10 run to open the half in which CU built a 41-point margin. Every player logged at least 10 minutes in the game and all but two scored in the 54-point win.
