Men’s Tennis rallies to defeat St. Francis (Ill.)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.. – Cornerstone returned to action today hosting University of Saint Francis (Ill.). The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead winning #2 and #3 doubles. The Fighting Saints came back and won #1, #2, and #6 singles but the Golden Eagles won #3, #4 and #5 singles to claim a 5-4 win over Saint Francis.

Doubles Highlights – #2 Doubles team of Austin Hendrick / Sam Ottosen defeated Boris Peshev / Luka Dordevic 8-6. Santiago Mackrey / Andrew Son defeated Jonathan Pacheco/Lucas Randall by a score of 8-3.

Singles Highlights - #3 Austin Hedrick defeated Lucas Randall 6-4, 6-3 in his match. Santiago Mackrey coasted to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Anders Sandberg. The match came down to the #5 singles match and Sam Ottosen rallied to defeat Michael Hasler 6-4, 6-7, and 6-2 to give Cornerstone the 5-4 victory.

Next Up – Cornerstone will play conference foe Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind. next Saturday
