Women's Tennis downed by Ave Maria

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Women's tennis played their first match of Spring Break against Ave Maria of Florida and the Gyrenes won the match 9-0. CU will resume play on Monday when they face Marian University (Ind.) at 11:30 a.m.

Double's Highlights - Nicole Huizenga and Rachel Kono took 3 games off the #2 doubles team and Karli Holmes and Tori Young took 3 games off the #3 doubles team.

Singels Highlights - #1 Heidi Boesl lost her first set 6-0 but battled back in her second set and lost a close set by the score of 7-5. #5 Karli Holmes also pressed her opponent losing 6-1 in the first and 7-5 in the second set. #6 Tori Young lost 6-3, 6-1 to her opponent.

Next Up: The Golden Eagles will face #25 Marian on Monday.
