FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Cornerstone returned to action today against WHAC foe Indiana Tech. The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead winning 2 of 3 doubles but the Warriors won 4 of 6 singles to defeat Cornerstone 5-4. The loss drops CU to 10-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference. CU will host UNOH and Lawrence Tech this weekend.
Doubles Highlights – #1 Doubles team Elijah Yi / Austin Hunt started things off well winning 8-4 over Fernando Sousa / Mikel Oscoz. Santiago Mackrey / Andrew Son also won 8-4 over Kino de Leon / Rui Lima to take an early lead in the match.
Singles Highlights - #3 Austin Hedrick defeated Mikel Oscoz 6-4, 7-5 to continue his solid play. #5 Sam Ottosen picked up the only other singles win (6-3, 6-4) over Kino de Leon.
Next Up – Cornerstone will host #4 Northwestern Ohio on Friday, April 8th at 4:00 over at Northpointe High School.
