Siemasz’s big outing leads Women’s Soccer past GBC 3-1

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  – Lexanna Siemasz's two goals and one assist helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 victory over Grace Bible College. Cornerstone has now won four consecutive matches bringing their overall record to 4-0-1, as they will host Goshen College on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Game Flow…
Cornerstone got the scoring started early, off a corner where Lexanna Siemasz won the ball in a scuffle and managed to find the open Morgan Haddad who buried the ball into the back of the net in the 4' minute. Grace Bible College had a quick response as forward Autumn Befus fought her way through four different Golden Eagle defenders to score, tying the game at 1-1. CU then responded with a late second half goal, as Siemasz found the back of the net to take a 2-1 lead into the half.

Siemasz kept up the great outing in the second half scoring on a header in the 69' minute to make the final score 3-1. Cornerstone recorded a total of 30 shots in the match, but could not get any more past GBC goalkeeper Megan McFarland who recorded 11 saves in the match.
