Women’s Soccer wins fifth straight 2-0 over Goshen College

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  – The Golden Eagles ended a six game home stand with a shutout victory over Goshen College 2-0 for their fifth consecutive win. CU is now 5-0-1 on the year, as they will hit the road for the first time on Tuesday in Pontiac, Michigan to take on the Warriors of Rochester College.

Game Flow…
Cornerstone came out firing in the first half recording multiple chances and controlling much of the possession. CU found the net in the 14' minute when Morgan Haddad scored on a one touch shot from a Jessica Erny cross to take the lead 1-0.

The Golden Eagles kept the offensive pressure on in the second half recording an insurance goal in the 51' minute, as Tori Johns pounded a lose ball into the bottom right corner to bring the Cornerstone lead to 2-0. Defensively CU was dominant allowing just three shots in the 2-0 victory, while recording 21 of their own.
