GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After posting a victory in their league opener last week at Davenport, the Cornerstone Volleyball team returns to league play with three crucial WHAC contests. CU will host their annual Night of Nets match Wednesday vs. Aquinas before traveling to take on Northwestern Ohio and Indiana Tech this weekend.

SCOUTING AQUINAS
First year head coach Rick Schroeder has the Saints off to a 6-1 start despite losing their last match to nationally ranked Lourdes University. AQ opened the season with six straight wins at the Cardinal Stritch tourney as well as a pair of matches against IU-South Bend and Concordia. The Saints are led on offense by Micaela Hazen who has 85 while Kristin Danielson has 60. Brooke Wieland runs the offense fro the setter position as she averages 8.7 assists per set while posting 1.7 digs per set.

SCOUTING UNOH
Fourth year head coach Lora Sarich and the Racers come into the week with an 8-8 overall record as they will face Marygrove College on Wednesday. UNOH has won six out of its last seven matches with the only setback to No. 17 Madonna in the WHAC opener. Sarich has quite a few new faces to the team and they have been led on offense by the balanced attack from Leah Hofmann, Kendall Stoll and Megan Richwine. Together the trio averages 6.8 kills/set.

SCOUTING INDIANA TECH
Last year the Warriors made a big splash in the WHAC by finishing fourth overall and head coach Kourtney Wilson has the team playing well once again. IT has won its last three matches overall and will face UM-Dearborn and Aquinas before welcoming Cornerstone on Saturday. Taylor Kelso anchors a strong IT defense as she has been named the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row. Cassie Sarabia leads the offense with over three kills per set while Paige Doellman and Gabby Staggs provide balance at the net.
