SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Golden Eagles were unable to mount a comeback against Lawrence Tech, falling 2-1 on the road in the WHAC opener. CU has now lost two in a row holding a 5-2-1, 0-1-0 WHAC record on the year. Cornerstone will head to cross town rival Davenport on Tuesday for their next match.
Game Flow…
The first half was very stagnant as neither team could get much going offensively. CU recorded just three shots and LTU had two resulting in a 0-0 first half score.
The Blue Devils offense came alive in the second half with two goals within three minutes of each other. Tia Lamie recorded the first goal in the 58' minute and Nicole Propst found the net in the 60' minute to give LTU a 2-0 lead. Cornerstone's
Morgan Haddad scored in the 66' minute to bring the score to 2-1, but the Lawrence Tech defense buckled down allowing no further comeback resulting in a 2-1 final score.
