Volleyball welcomes Siena Heights Wednesday for 80's night

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles open a nine-match home stand on Wednesday vs. Siena Heights in which the team celebrates 80's night. CU will also welcome No. 16 Madonna and UM-Dearborn to Mol Arena this week as they play their next five matches against WHAC foes.

SCOUTING SIENA HEIGHTS
The Saints, under second-year head coach Kim Berrington, are 10-3 on the season and tied with Cornerstone at 4-1 in league play. The Saints have won six of their last seven matches including four in a row entering the matchup Wednesday. SHU is led on offense by Paige Hudgin and Abby Whitehead who combine to average almost six kills per set while Amanda Metx runs the offense and is averaging almost nine assists per set.

SCOUTING MADONNA
The Crusaders and veteran head coach Jerry Abraham have had much success so far as they own the most wins in the WHAC at 17 overall. 13 of those have come inside their own building as they have hosted three different tournaments in 2016 while they only have played one true away match in which they won 3-2 at Lawrence Tech. Madonna, who was ranked No. 16 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll is led on offense by reigning WHAC Player of the Week in Amanda Hawkins (2.82 kills per set) and OH Karlie Kelly (3.36 kills per set).

SCOUTING UM-DEARBORN
The Wolverines enter the week with an 8-8 overall record while they are just 1-4 in league play. Third year head coach Eric Stark and his team have already won more matches this season than they did in the previous two combined as the Wolverines split last week against Grace Bible (won 3-2) and Madonna (lost 3-0). UM-Dearborn is led on offense by outside hitter Colby DeMare who is averaging just over two kills per set while Daniella Barile is putting up almost eight assists per set to run the offense.
