ADRIAN, Mich. – The Saints offense was too much to handle for the Golden Eagles as SHU scored four times to hand CU a 4-0 loss. Cornerstone allowed three goals in the first half, as they now move to 6-5-2, 2-3-1 WHAC on the year. CU will end a long four game road trip at Lourdes on Tuesday, October 17.
Game Flow...
It did not take long for Siena Heights to find the back of the net, scoring in the eighth minute when Samantha Bartelotti beat keeper
Mikayla Johnson and passed to Taylor Mulder for the goal. Just eight minutes later, the Saints found the net again when Julia Stancato found the back of the net to make it 2-0. SHU scored once more in the 34
th minute to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
The early deficit weighed heavily on the Golden Eagles entering the second half, as they were still unable to find anything on the offensive end. Siena Heights capped of the 4-0 route with a goal by Danielle Eastman in the 66
th minute. CU was only able to find seven shots on the match, four of those coming from the duo of
Phoebe LaCroix and
Raelee VandenBerg.
