GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles faced off against the Cardinals of Concordia on Tuesday afternoon. Concordia took a 1-0 lead into halftime but a second half goal from
James Pipe tied the match and sent it into overtime. The Cardinals found the back of the net in the second overtime. Cornerstone will take a 2-4-3 overall, 1-1-2 WHAC record into Saturday's match at Indiana Tech.
Game Flow
The Golden Eagles outshot the Cardinals 6-5 in the first half of regulation, but Concordia held a 1-0 lead at the break.
James Pipe scored his first goal of the season in the second half to knot the game up at 1-1. Cornerstone took a total of 13 shots in the second half, but only the one found the back of the net. Concordia ended the match with a goal three minutes into the second overtime.
