FORT WAYNE, IND. – The Golden Eagles took on the Indiana Tech Warriors on Saturday afternoon. Indiana Tech began the week on top of the WHAC standings and entered the match with a 7-4 record, 4-1 in the WHAC.
Kevin Nimmo scored a goal early, then a goal late to force overtime. Indiana Tech would prevail in overtime, dropping Cornerstone's record to 2-5-3, 1-2-2 in the WHAC. The Golden Eagles will host Marygrove at 7pm on Wednesday.
Game Flow
Kevin Nimmo beat the keeper on a penalty kick just ten minutes into regulation to give Cornerstone an early 1-0 lead. The Warriors would even the match at 1-1 in the 71
st minute of action, and would take a 2-1 lead just two minutes later. In the final couple minutes of regulation, Nimmo buried his second goal of the day he blasted a loose ball into the back of the net, forcing overtime. Indiana Tech dominated the extra frame, tallying eight shots in ten minutes, the last of which found the back of the net.
