GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After putting up 66, 69 and 73 points in their last three victories, the Cornerstone offense was clicking on all cylinders on Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles downed visiting Goshen 97-67. The victory is the fourth straight for the No. 1 ranked team in NAIA DII as CU will stay at home for their WHAC opener next Saturday against Concordia (Mich.).
Game Flow
The opening half was an offensive clinic put on by the Golden Eagles as they connected on .667% of their shots including seven triples (four from
Michael Bradshaw). CU also made ten free-throws in the opening 20 minutes as they built a 57-33 lead.
The lead slowly grew over the first five minutes of the second half as CU saw their largest lead of 35 with 16:57 to play in the game. Goshen fought back to within 22 at one point but that would be as close as they would get with 30 being the final margin.
