LIVONIA, Mich. – For the first time since 2003, the Cornerstone Volleyball team has won a WHAC Tournament championship as the Golden Eagles defeated Lourdes in four sets on Saturday afternoon. The 16-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-11 win is the 14

Match Flow…
In a rematch of the tourney championship from 2016, the Golden Eagles came out a little sluggish and the No. 4 seed Gray Wolves took the momentum from last night's big upset of No. 18 Madonna to a 25-16 win in the opening set.
After that it was all Cornerstone as they only allowed 37 points in the final three sets combined.
CU finished the day by holding the Gray Wolves' offense to a dismal -.052 hitting percentage as Lourdes had 33 kills with 40 errors. Meanwhile, the CU offense went for 38 kills while posting a .174 hitting percentage. The blocking was the story as CU finished with 17.0 Team Blocks, led by eight each from
Jackie Stanko,
Kendra Zwart and
Ellie Van Laar.
