Men's Soccer to take on Madonna in WHAC Quarterfinals

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone concluded the regular season with a 5-8-3 overall, 4-5-2 WHAC record. A 2-0 win over UM-Dearborn in the regular season finale propelled the Golden Eagles to a spot in the WHAC Tournament. They will take on 1-seed Madonna on Saturday afternoon in Livonia. History vs. Madonna
Cornerstone has a 12-24-4 record against Madonna since 1994. Cornerstone outshot Madonna 14 to 9 in a scoreless tie on September 29 earlier this season. Since then, MU is 7-1 while CU is 3-5. 

Scouting Madonna
Madonna ended the regular season ranked 1st in the WHAC and 25th nationally with a 14-2-1 overall, 9-1-1 WHAC record. Three Crusaders earned All-WHAC honors during the regular season: forward Yuri Farkas, midfielder Hector Morales, and goalkeeper Joe Smith. Farkas led the WHAC in goals (16), shots (70), and shots on goal (37). Morales scored 14 goals in 15 starts. Smith finished with a .960 GAA and a .791 save percentage. Madonna earned key victories over Northwestern Ohio (2-1), and Aquinas (4-3 in 2OT). 

Postseason History
- Since 2011, Madonna and Cornerstone have met in the WHAC tournament three times. The Crusaders won 1-0 in 2011 en route to a tournament title, the Golden Eagles won 1-0 in 2012, and the Crusasers won 2-0 in 2013. 
- CU's most recent WHAC tournament title was in 2006, when they defeated Madonna 2-1 in the championship game.
- Madonna won the 2008 WHAC tournament title. 
- Last season, Cornerstone was eliminated by Marygrove in the opening round, while Madonna was eliminated by Indiana Tech in the opening round. 

Pipe honored
James Pipe scored two goals against UM-Dearborn, earning Golden Eagles of the Week honors as well as WHAC offensive player of the week honors. Pipe is tied with Kevin Nimmo with three goals on the season, behind Richard Areche, who leads the team with four.

Madonna Home Turf Dominance
Over the past two seasons, Madonna is 18-0-1 on their home turf. The lone tie came against Cornerstone earlier this season.
