GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles rebound from a season long three game skid, earning an 80-50 victory over Lourdes University for a season sweep. Cornerstone is now 12-13, 9-8 WHAC on the year, as they continue to sit in the eighth and final spot as we near WHAC tournament play. CU will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Lawrence Tech for a 1 p.m. tip.
Game Flow
The Golden Eagles once again got off to a fast start, shooting 53.3% (8-15) from the field in the first quarter including a 10-0 run that gave CU an 18-8 lead at the end of the period. Cornerstone followed their hot shooting start with an even better second quarter, shooting 57.1% (8-14) from the field to extend the advantage to 38-22.

Cornerstone continued to add onto the lead in the second half with the bench scoring significantly. CU shot 75% from the field in the fourth quarter, powered by a 7-8 shooting performance from
Shaina DenBesten, and eight points from
Alyssa Van Ham to earn an 80-50 victory over Lourdes.

46-39 – The Golden Eagles outrebounded the Gray Wolves 46 to 39 on the game.
13-3 – Cornerstone went 13-25 from the free throw line, while Lourdes went just 3-5.

Cornerstone will hit the road for their final game outside of Grand Rapids, as they take on Lawrence Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m.
