No. 1 Men’s Basketball downs UNOH 94-62 on senior day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 1 ranked Golden Eagles closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 94-62 win over Northwestern Ohio. The victory helps Cornerstone tie the conference wins record of 20 as they finish with a 20-2 mark in league play and 27-3 mark overall. CU will host the first round of the conference tournament on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as the top overall seed.
 
Game Flow
Northwestern Ohio came into the game having won their last two games against third place Indiana Tech and fifth place UM-Dearborn but it was all Cornerstone after the Golden Eagles used a 15-3 run to open a 25-11 lead 8:45 into the game. UNOH got the lead down to nine on two different occasions but CU still went into the break up 42-30.

Cornerstone then exploded out of the halftime locker room as they scored 29 of the first 35 points, highlighted by three consecutive triples from Michael Bradshaw to open a 69-36 lead. That margin grew to as many as 42 with 6:34 to play in the game. Tyler Smith highlighted the final few minutes as the senior hit back to back three-pointers en route to his season-high nine points in the win

Cornerstone will open the conference tourney on Thursday when they host the No. 8 seed at 7:30 p.m. The bracket will be announced later today.
