CLERMONT, Fla. – The Golden Eagles closed out their spring break action with two games under the Saturday night lights. They fell to No. 2 Saint Xavier 8-1 and were shut out by Saint Ambrose 3-0. Cornerstone drops to 3-11 on the year as they fly back to Michigan to take on Alma on Wednesday.

Cornerstone 1 – Saint Xavier 8 – Over the course of the first four innings, Saint Xavier scored one run but left a total of 11 runners on base. They finally broke the game open in the fifth inning with six runs, before adding another in the sixth. Cornerstone's lone run came off a strange play that appeared to be an inning-ending putout at home plate but was overturned for fielder's interference, as
Mackenzie Vallad ran home from second off the bat of
Lexi Lieske.
Lieske tallied two of the Golden Eagles' four hits.
