GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – League newcomer Lawrence Tech posted a sweep of the Golden Eagles on Friday night as CU got shut out in the first game by a score of 7-0 before falling in game two 10-9. The pair of losses drops Cornerstone to 10-25 overall and 3-12 in the WHAC. CU will return to their home field Saturday for a trio of games as they'll play a doubleheader against Northwestern Ohio at 1 p.m. and then they'll take on Indiana Tech at approximately 5:00pm.
Game 1 – The Golden Eagles couldn't find too much offense in the first game.
Lexi Lieske had two hits and
Alicia Ontiveros tallied one. LTU opened the game with back to back home runs in the first inning and their offense put up runs the third (1), and fifth and sixth (2 each). The Blue Devils accounted for 15 hits compared to just the three for CU.
Game 2 – The Golden Eagles put up seven runs in the first inning as they batted around. Highlighting the attach was a 3-RBI triple off the bat of
Lexi Lieske which scored
McKena Razenberg,
Chelsey Kriger and
Madison Gallagher.
The Blue Devils then slowly chipped away at the lead and scored two runs in their half of the second and one more in the fourth to cut the lead to 7-3. Cornerstone got one back in the fourth when Cierrra Langejans singled home Caitlin Hartline. LTU again came right back and would eventually go on to score two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings before posting three in the 7
th to compete the come from behind win.

What's Next
