Men's Tennis finishes WHAC season with an 8-1 win over Concordia

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.. – The Golden Eagles finished out the WHAC regular season schedule with an 8-1 win over Concordia today.  The Golden Eagles swept the doubles matches and won all of the singles matches that they played but Dan Ribbink retired after doubles and forfeited his singles match due to an ongoing injury.

Doubles Highlights: #1 Marc Lerch / Francisco Fernandez won their match 8-0 over Alexander Koziel / Gustavo Lozada. #2 Austin Hendrick / Sam Ottosen defeated Mitchell Zacharias / Alexander Janssen 8-4 and Grant Morton / Dan Ribbink pulled out an 8-5 win over Samuel Dobben / Joel Warner to give Cornerstone a 3-0 advantage after doubles.

Singles Highlights: Cornerstone cruised through singles.  #1 Marc Lerch had the toughest match winning 7-5, 6-1 over Gustavo Lozada.  #2 Francisco Fernandez won 6-1, 6-1 over Mitchell Zacharias.  #3 Grant Morton defeated Alexander Koziel 6-0, 6-1.  #4 Austin Hedrick defeated Ryan Curtis 6-0, 6-0.  #5 Sam Ottosen won his match 6-0, 6-1 over Alexander Janssen.
 
Next Up? Cornerstone finished 5th in the WHAC and will be seeded as such in the WHAC tournament to be held in Lima, Ohio beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28th.
