GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.. – The Golden Eagles will travel to Illinois on Saturday to take on the 2016 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference champion—Olivet Nazarene. The Tigers are once again the favorite to win the CCAC, while the WHAC coaches' preseason poll lands Cornerstone at third in the conference. Cornerstone returns a majority of the starting lineup from last season, and adds a few talented new athletes.

Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers finished 2016 season as CCAC champions thanks to an 11-0-1 conference record. A 16-4-2 overall record boosted them to the national standings at number 19. They took a 14-game win streak into the national tournament, where they were eliminated in the opening round. Olivet Nazarene begins 2017 ranked No. 18 in the country.
Junior Blake Van Bruggen led the team with 13 goals in the 2016 campaign as a sophomore.
Head Coach David Blahnik enters his sixth season at the helm for ONU. Under Blahnik, the Tigers have an impressive .758 winning percentage and have made four national tournament appearances in the past five years.
