WHAC Opener pits No. 10 Volleyball vs. Rochester

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After posting an impressive 7-1 mark in California to open its 2017 campaign, the Golden Eagles now come back home as the No. 10 ranked team in the nation. CU and head coach Ryan Campbell will play their home opener Wednesday against league newcomer Rochester at 7 p.m. inside Mol Arena. It will also be the annual Night of Nets match to help raise money for the fight against Malaria. Cornerstone then heads to Wisconsin to participate at a tourney at Viterbo.

SCOUTING ROCHESTER
4th year head coach Shannon Billings has the Warriors 3-8 overall as they enter their first ever league contest on Wednesday at Cornerstone. Rochester has traveled all over the country for their first 11 matches as they have played at Concordia, Robert Morris and Penn State. The Warriors posted a 2-1 mark in Pennsylvania and have been led on offense by outside hitter Laura Wilson.

SCOUT
Cornerstone heads to a third very difficult tourney of their young season as they will take on two more Top-25 foes including the host and No. 2 ranked V-Hawks of Viterbo. CU will open play on Friday against No. 23 Jamestown and also face an 8-1 Saint Xavier team. After the Golden Eagle face Viterbo on Saturday morning, CU will conclude the tourney against Olivet Nazarene.
