GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone extended their winning streak to 18 games with a convincing 85-62 win over visiting Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday night. The victory lifts the Golden Eagles to 18-2 overall on the year and 10-0 in league action as they will hit the road for the first time in 2018 when they travel to Concordia on Saturday afternoon.
Game Flow
The visiting Racers came out fast and grabbed a 5-3 lead but an 8-0 run finished off by a
Christian Rodriguez put the Golden Eagles up 11-5 and they never looked back. The lead grew to 19 points thanks to another big run by CU as
Sam Vander Sluis laid one in off a sweet feed from Rodriguez with 7:48 to play in the half. Cornerstone then scored 15 of the final 23 points to lead 47-21 at the break.
Coming out of the locker room, Rodriguez hit a triple for the Golden Eagles and the margin eventually grew to as many as 33 on one of three
Tyler Baker 3-pointers with 13:29 to play. UNOH then caught fire from behind the arc to bring the margin back to the low 20's but they would not get any closer with CU posting the 23-point victory.
