GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles earned their third conference victory with a 2-0 win over UM-Dearborn at CU Soccer Field on Wednesday night.
Phoebe LaCroix and
Alexys Riksen each found the net in the final five minutes of the first half to give CU the win and move their record to 7-7-0, 3-5-0 WHAC overall. Cornerstone will continue a three game home stand on Saturday as they take on the newest member of the WHAC Cleary University at 4:30 p.m. Saturday's game will also serve as senior day for the Golden Eagles.

- Cornerstone outshot UM-Dearborn 15-0 in the first half but it took until the 42ndminute to find the net.
- Phoebe LaCroix Scored her sixth goal of the season off a pass from Mya Copado to give CU the 1-0 lead.
- Alexys Riksen added a second goal with just 39 seconds left in the half, ripping a shot off the crossbar and in from well outside the box to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead at the half.
- Cornerstone made four subs to start the second half, as Makayela Shepperd, Shelby VanLaar, Mya Copado, and Madison Radcliffe started the period.
- Not much happened in the second half statistically as CU only recorded three shots, while UM-Dearborn recorded two shots resulting in a 2-0 final.
