Jessica Yonkers and the young Golden Eagles roster got their first crack at regular season action Wednesday night but fell just short losing 81-69 at Trinity Christian College. CU trailed by just two at the half, but a third quarter surge by the Trolls helped them pull away in the second half. CU is 0-1 on the year as they will return home on Saturday for their home opener vs. Crossroads League opponent Grace College at 3:30 p.m.

- Cornerstone and Trinity Christian battled back and forth in the first 10 minutes and CU trailed by just three at the end of the period behind seven first quarter points from Shelby Nyboer.
- CU trailed 34-32 at the half despite 17 first half turnovers.
- Mya Udell hit back-to-back threes to begin the third quarter to give CU their first lead since the first quarter at 38-36.
- Trinity Christian responded with a 12-0 run in the middle of the third quarter to regain a 50-41 lead.
- CU would fall behind by a game high 14 points but would come back to cut it to five with 6:44 remaining behind the scoring of Taylor Richards and another three by Mya Udell.
- Trinity Christian would respond with a 6-0 run on their way to a 81-69 victory in the season opener.
